Pray Ephesians

There is nothing better than praying scripture!

In the New Testament two passages communicate activities of highest priority - things that should be done "first of all"!

  1. The first "First of all" - value scripture. 2 Peter 1:20-21 says, "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
  2. The second "First of all" - value prayer. First Timothy 2:1 says, "First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men."

The Word of God and prayer - two things of highest value according to God.

When they come in tandem, they combine to create a source of highest value in the life of the believer.

Need an illustration? Consider the value of the Word and prayer in the lives of the first leaders of the church who said: "We will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word." (Acts 6:4)

That's the reason for It's a place where the highest values of the Word and prayer combine to encourage "scripture-based prayer" - reading the Word and then praying it!
